What is F1 game telemetry?
Telemetry is real-time performance data that F1 video games broadcast while you race. This data reveals exactly what your car is doing at every point on track.
What Data Does Telemetry Include?
F1 games broadcast detailed telemetry at 20 times per second, including:
- Speed - Your velocity at every meter of the track
- Throttle - How much throttle you're applying (0-100%)
- Brake - Brake pressure input (0-100%)
- Steering - Steering wheel angle
- Gear - Current gear selection
- DRS - Whether DRS is open or closed
- Tyre data - Temperature, wear, and compound information
How Telemetry Helps You Improve
By analyzing telemetry, you can identify exactly where you're losing time:
- Braking points - See if you're braking too early or too late compared to faster drivers
- Throttle application - Check if you're getting on the power efficiently out of corners
- Racing line - Compare your speed trace to find where you're losing momentum
- Consistency - Identify corners where your inputs vary lap to lap
How F1Laps Captures Telemetry
The F1Laps Telemetry App captures this data automatically while you race. The app receives the UDP telemetry stream from your F1 game and syncs it to your F1Laps account.
Once captured, you can:
- View detailed telemetry charts showing all data channels
- Compare your laps against faster drivers on the leaderboard
- Identify specific corners where you can improve
Getting Started
